Dubai Customs receives “Endowment Sign” from MBRGCEC

Dubai Customs received the “Endowment Sign” from Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC) in recognition of their noticeable efforts in supporting sustainable social development. Dubai Customs carried out 175 social initiatives in 2018 and 80 initiatives during the first half of 2019.

On the occasion of the International Day of Charity which is observed annually on 5th September, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih received the “Endowment Sign” from Essa Al Ghurair, Chairman of Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy.

Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Centre for Awqaf and Endowment is a dedicated Waqf by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. The Centre is a consulting Awqaf foundation tasked with encouraging and enabling Awqaf and Endowment establishment to fulfill the social needs of people and serve humanity. The Centre offers its services to individuals, local, regional and international foundations free of charge in order to achieve Dubai’s global vision for Awqaf and endowments.

“We are highly committed to Corporate Social Responsibility, and this value is turning into a daily practice for Dubai Customs management and staff” Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs said. “Dubai Customs has launched 600 social initiatives during the last three years achieving society happiness at 90%. Our initiatives cover different social activities and target different segments of society locally and globally.”

“We are proud to have received this notable sign which is a reflection of our commitment towards noble causes in fulfilment of the leading vision of our wise leadership” Musabih added.

HE Essa Al Ghurair said the efforts and contributions of organizations to support the social and humanitarian cause worldwide deserve all appreciation.

“ Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation and MBRGCEC makes sure to award the socially responsible organizations like Dubai Customs with the Endowment Sign in recognition of their valuable contributions in fulfilment of our wise vision and to meet the goals of Dubai Plan 2021 and the UAE Centennial 2071” he said.

On his part, Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary General of Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation said:

“We highly appreciate the role played by the government and federal departments and the private sector in supporting Waqf to cover larger segments of society and help sustain development in education, health, children and social care”.

Dubai Customs social initiatives are diverse and include the organization of the mass wedding in partnership with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs. Around 130 grooms have benefited from the 2018 mass wedding. Dubai Customs also financed the building of the Martyrs Mosque in the Niger in cooperation with Dar Al Bir Society. They also support Dubai Autism Center and the Emirates Association of the Visually impaired, among many others.
