The UAE Water Aid Foundation (Suqia), which was launched under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dar Al Ber Society (DABS) to exchange knowledge and expertise, and enhance cooperation. The MoU aims to facilitate strategic partnerships between government and private organisations in the UAE and Dubai.
“Suqia adheres to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote the humanitarian efforts of Dubai, and develop sustainable solutions to the issue of international water scarcity. We are pleased to be cooperating with Dar Al Ber Society, to enhance our efforts to tackle international water scarcity and providing potable water to those in need all over the world,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Suqia.
“The signing of this MoU adds to an ongoing list of agreements signed between Suqia and a number of other private and public organisations. This agreement adheres to the directives of the wise leadership, to create partnerships with other humanitarian organisations, to keep pace with the latest humanitarian developments, while contributing to international efforts to combat international water scarcity,” added Al Tayer.
Al Tayer commended the efforts made by DABS, to help those in need while launching a number of charitable projects both in the UAE and abroad. Al Tayer stressed the importance for strengthening cooperation with all concerned organisations, to achieve mutual goals in providing aid to those in need and serving humanity.
The MoU was signed by Mohammed Abdulkareem Al Shamsi, Acting Executive Director of Suqia, and Abdulla Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Executive Director of DABS.
Al Falasi noted the importance of the agreement signed between Suqia and DABS, to facilitate cooperation and achieve mutual humanitarian goals.
“This MoU enhances our efforts, which reflect those of Suqia, to establish sustainable solutions to water scarcity, by providing potable water to those in need around the world. Over the past years, Dar Al Ber Society has launched a number of projects to provide drinking water to less fortunate countries around the world. DABS has launched projects that include drilling and implementing wells, to provide drinking water and help in irrigation, benefitting humans, animals, and plants alike,” said Al Falasi.
Al Falasi noted that DABS aims to cooperate with all organisations that promote humanitarian efforts, as highlighted by the vision of the wise leadership, to instil a culture of humanitarian work, and provide aid to those in need both in the UAE and abroad.
