A collection of the UAE’s brightest talent is coming together in a new video campaign designed to encourage young job seekers to identify their own career paths and chase their dream roles. As the 17th edition of Careers UAE take place from April 9-11 at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), successful job seekers from the 2016 event reflect on their new roles. In the 2016 edition of Careers UAE, 43% of employment hunters were offered a position either during, or as a result of the event.

The Etwadaft initiative has been created by Careers UAE, the event held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and will reflect on the successes of those who found meaningful employment at the job fair, feature advice from organisations seeking new talent, and encourage those now looking for new positions.
Rashed Mohamed Essa a 27-year old UAE national from Dubai, was appointed as Human Resources Officer with Supreme Legislation Committee at the 2016 edition of Careers UAE and said: “It is always nerve-wracking attending a job interview, and my first piece of advice is to be as prepared as possible. Being prepared helped me alleviate my nerves – at least a little! Learn about the company as much as you can and make sure you have knowledge of their practices that you can share during the interview. This shows you are interested in them as a business and that you have done your research.

“This last year with Supreme Legislation Committee has been one of the most rewarding of my life. The support I’ve been given by my management has been incredible and I feel like I am making a valuable contribution to the business. This is an exciting time to be working in Dubai, with so much change on the horizon as we approach Expo 2020, and I feel very lucky to be in my position.”
Essa features in the new Etwadaft videos, published on the Careers UAE social media platforms, alongside employers from organisations such as Dans, DEWA and Serco, businesses which have all appointed successful candidates at Careers UAE in recent years.
In line with Dubai Plan 2021 and the National Agenda to increase Emiratisation in the private sector 10 times by 2021, top organisations from around the world will be highlighting opportunities for graduates and young professionals to join their teams at Careers UAE 2017.

Taking part this year will be Gold Sponsors Dubai Electronic Security Centre and National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Strategic Government Partner Dubai Government Human Resources, Bank Sponsor Commercial Bank of Dubai, Partner UAE University as well as organisations such as Al Futtaim Group, DP World, Dubai Electricity & Water Authority and Arab Bank.

In addition to public and private companies highlighting recruitment options and Emiratisation programmes across the UAE, Careers UAE 2017 will also see InternsME Talent Hunt which allows visitors to meet, be interviewed and get hired on-the-spot.

Other activities during Careers UAE 2017 include Mission Possible, a treasure quest format that puts visitors’ knowledge to the test and the opportunity to win prizes, as well as Hopscotch Women’s Conference, a new feature to the show, which takes place on 10 April and provides female delegates with hands-on training, coaching, inspiration and opportunities for women in the workplace.

Careers UAE returns 9-11 April 10am-6pm (10 April 2017 10am-1pm – Ladies Only) with support from Strategic Careers Partner, Bayt.com; Youth Employment Partner, InternsME; and Partners Tanmia, Zayed University, Higher Colleges of Technology and Hopscotch.
