Adding to its portfolio of new businesses successfully making their way into the industry, Sheraa has facilitated the launch of ‘Tawseel’ (‘delivery’ in Arabic) – a food delivery service helping restaurants keep up with delivery requests without disruption in service.  The startup operates with a fleet of eleven delivery bikes, including a Honda CBR 600 bike that is touted as the fastest food delivery vehicle in the country.

Tawseel’s service model is inspired from other on-demand fleet services that are transforming the transportation landscape and providing ease of mind to end-consumers. Restaurants can activate a request for Tawseel’s services whenever demand exceeds the limit of deliveries that the in-house staff can accommodate, after which the nearest Tawseel member accepts the task and completes the delivery. The service is designed to significantly bring down costs and step up efficiency as the restaurant can curtail expenses of hiring new deliverymen. It also improves turnover as clients are left with more capacity to service delivery orders, and contributes towards increased customer satisfaction and loyalty resulting from lesser waiting time.

Tasweel is already operating in Sharjah and will soon launch in Ajman, with plans of expanding into other cities in the northern emirates. In a short span of time, the startup has already been signed up by thirteen restaurants to strengthen their delivery mechanism especially during peak hours.

At the helm of Tawseel’s launch was Sheraa – a launch pad for aspiring entrepreneurs in the United Arab Emirates – that guided the team through the complete launch process. Sheraa’s community members provided expert mentorship and advisory for critical requirements of the business, including access to potential customers and creating networking opportunities. Sheraa also assisted with legal advice and will facilitate communication and marketing services for the new entrant.

Ms. Najla Al Midfa, General Manager of Sheraa, has full faith in Tawseel’s ability to scale the peaks of success: “We are delighted to see yet another team of aspiring entrepreneurs take the leap of faith and launch their business. Tawseel is a great example of how a challenge, when tackled with a solid idea and perseverance, can present itself as an opportunity. The Sheraa community spared no efforts in supporting the launch of this innovative venture.”

Mr. Mohamed al Musharrakh, Emirati founder and General Manager of Tawseel, said: “The pressing need for this service dawned upon me when I struggled to get lunch delivered several times. I realized that though the restaurant was open to take my order, either all their deliverymen were engaged or I had to wait for a very long time. This was not feasible both for my hunger pangs and my patience, and thus, Tawseel was born with the objective of improving the delivery model of restaurants and ensuring that this efficiency translates into improved services for customers.”

Sheraa has now successfully launched eleven startups, ten of which emerged from its inaugural accelerator held earlier this year.
