Apparently Irish National Fish & Chips Day is a thing, and that means McGettigan’s, the city’s chain of Irish pubs, is going to be going all-in on the tradition.
On Thursday May 23, it’s time to celebrate the classic fish and chip – a hearty, wholesome, traditional British (and Irish) dish that, so advertising would have you believe, brings families together, makes kids laugh, makes grandparents smile proudly and makes parents put plates on the dinner table in slow motion.
And McGettigan’s is going to be dishing out a treat to mark the occasion.
Whether you’re in JLT, DWTC, Souk Madinat Jumeirah, JBR or in branches outside the emirate, you’ll find free samples of fish and chips to try from 4pm through until 6pm.
“Fish and chips is one of those dishes that will always be on our menu, whether it’s in Jakarta or London it’s one of our top performing dishes. It only felt right to mark the occasion, people just can’t get enough of this pub grub classic,” said McGettigan’s’ Executive Chef Derek Flynn.
