Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced new public transport timings for New Year’s Eve.
On Wednesday, the RTA said that Dubai’s metro, tram, bus and water transport systems will work longer hours to meet the anticipated increase in demand on December 31 and January 1.
According to RTA, red and green line metro stations will run from 5 AM on December 31 and from 5:30 AM on January 1.
The tram, for its part, will operate from 6 AM to 1 AM on both December 31 and January 1.
While RTA service centres will be closed, the entity’s two ‘smart centres’ at Umm Al Ramool and the RTA headquarters will remain around the clock.
Additionally, all paid parking zones will be free on January 1, with the exception of multi-level parking lots.
Dubai’s water bus will run at marina stations on December 31 from 10 AM until 8 PM, and from noon until midnight on January 1, while the Dubai ferry will stop twice at Al Ghubaiba Station (at 11 AM and 1 PM) and four times at Dubai Marina station (at 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM, and 5 PM).
