Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will participate in the 17th Arab Media Forum (AMF) as the Sustainability Partner. The AMF will be held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, under the theme ‘Impactful Media Trends’, on 3rd and 4th April 2018, in Madinat Jumeirah.
The AMF takes an in-depth look at the most impactful media trends, reviews the future of the press with the advance of Artificial Intelligence, while keeping pace with the rapid growth in the Arab and international media. AMF is set to bring together more than 3,000 prominent regional and international media figures and leaders. At the AMF, DEWA will focus on its ambitious projects, initiatives, programmes, and pioneering efforts in the field of clean energy, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and the new technologies in various fields.
“DEWA is guided in all its projects and initiatives by the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to make Dubai a global model for clean energy and green economy by using the disruptive technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution such as: Artificial Intelligence (AI), unmanned aerial vehicles, energy storage, blockchain, the Internet of Things and many more. We support the 10X initiative launched by His Highness to propel Dubai towards the future, making it 10 years ahead of other global cities through government innovation. From our side, we launched ‘Digital DEWA,’ the digital arm of DEWA to implement a pioneering new model for utilities that uses innovation in renewable energy, energy storage, artificial intelligence and digital services. This model will disrupt the entire business of public utilities by becoming the world’s first digital utility using autonomous systems for renewable-energy and its storage, expansion in AI adoption, and providing digital services,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
“We are keen to participate every year in the AMF, which has become an interactive platform that brings together social media platforms and other media institutions that play a major role in helping us deliver key messages addressing current strategic issues, opinion and analysis for the most important events and developments in the UAE, the Arab region, and the world. This allows us to explore these issues and adopt a scientific vision for their future paths,” added Al Tayer.
DEWA supports the 17th Arab Media Forum this year as Sustainability Partner, based on its close ties with Dubai Press Club, the Forum’s organiser, and in recognition of the role of the media in spreading awareness among people on various issues and topics that affect their daily lives.
