Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Watani Al Emarat Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement national and collective initiatives and projects to help raise the nation’s global standing in charitable and voluntary work. This is based on their shared vision to promote the UAE’s efforts locally and internationally, especially during the Year of Tolerance.
The MoU was signed by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, and HE Dherar Belhoul Al Falasi, Director General of Watani Al Emarat Foundation. Officials from both sides were present. The MoU aims to support national projects organised by the two sides, organise training for DEWA employees in voluntary work, promoting National Identity and good citizenship.
‘We are pleased to partner with Watani Al Emarat Foundation, one of the leading national organisations that contribute to protecting our National Identity and consolidating its elements among younger generations, as well as promoting belonging and national loyalty and the values of good citizenship among all segments of society. This agreement supports DEWA’s Corporate Social Responsibility as well as our strategic relationship and shared vision with Watani Al Emarat Foundation to carry out operations that help promote National Identity. This includes introducing positive Emirati values, especially in the Year of Tolerance, and promoting Emirati values and principles in addition to joint collaboration in national and voluntary initiatives and projects that support the nation’s efforts to encourage young people to be creative and innovative,’ said Al Tayer.
“We are pleased to sign this national agreement in the service of the UAE national identity. This MoU with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority will achieve widespread dissemination of concepts and foundations in support of national loyalty practices and values of good citizenship. This is especially in light of the fact that the Watani Al Emarat Foundation has national initiatives and programmes to promote the continuous improvement of community participation,” said Al Falasi.
