TEAM ABU DHABI KEPT WAITING AS WINDS BLOW SEASON OPENER OFF COURSE

Torrente, Al Qemzi forced to sit out second day as weather hits Grand Prix of Saudi Arabia

Team Abu Dhabi have been kept waiting for a second day before launching the defence of their team and driver titles in the Grand Prix of Saudi Arabia, opening round of this year’s UIM F1H2O World Championship.

Strong winds of over 30km/h and rough seas again disrupted any on-water activity in Dammam today, forcing the postponement of a practice session and official qualifying.

With weather conditions expected to calm overnight race organisers were planning to rescheduled official qualifying for tomorrow, with Team Abu Dhabi’s reigning world champion Shaun Torrente and Emirati Thani Al Qemzi eager to return to action.

But F4-S Trophy racing for the weekend has been cancelled, meaning no action this time for Team Abu Dhabi’s Mohammed Al-Mehairbi and Rashed Al-Remeithi.
