Leading Swiss healthcare group expects growing flow of patients from region as Arab travellers turn their backs on America
Medical tourism traffic into Switzerland from the Middle East could receive a big shot in the arm from the effects of US President Donald Trump’s treatment of Muslims, one of the country’s leading healthcare groups believes.
Andres Oppenheim, General Manager of the renowned Nescens Clinique de Genolier, sees a growing flow of Middle East patients opting for Swiss medical checks and treatments after turning their backs on America.
The luxury clinic, which is exclusively dedicated to preventative medicine and anti-aging programmes, is part of the renowned Swiss Medical Network which combines more than 1,250 doctors and specialists all over Switzerland
Oppenheim, who has been attending the Family Office Forum in Dubai this week, said: “Trump’s policies are having a very negative effect on Muslims, as they are on a lot of other people, and medical healthcare into Switzerland is one of the beneficiaries.
“People in the Middle East who need an immediate medical solution will always find it because they’re strongly connected to top hospitals and clinics worldwide. In fact they have very good hospitals here so they don’t even need to get on a plane.
“But a lot of people here who look after their personal health capital are used to travelling to the USA for checks up and treatments at some of the leading hospitals and clinics there. Now, however, because of the current political situation in the US, they are no longer keen to travel there.
“At the same time they know they will always be very well received in Switzerland. Swiss excellence in specialist healthcare and hospitality is well known to Arab audiences.
“That has been made very clear to me in Dubai this week,” said Oppenheim. “The Swiss Medical Network, and the Nescens Clinique de Genolier in particular, are already very well established in this market and we expect a growing number of discerning Middle Eastern travellers who demand the very best in medical treatment and hospitality.”
Offering discreet, bespoke services for short, medium and long-term stays, the Clinique provides preventative and regenerative medicine, genetic screenings, nutrition advice, physical and osteo-articular care, as well as aesthetic medicine and anti-aging programmes. Patients can book their stays in residences offering a full range of five-star hotel services.
Middle East visitors can access additional services such as the clinic’s centre of expertise in physiotherapy, sport coaching, stem cell treatments, aesthetic medicine and dental care, all offered in an exclusive setting with first-class services.
Nestled high above Lake Geneva, the clinic is located within the world renowned Clinique de Genolier. For more information on Nescens Clinique de Genolier and its individualised anti-aging programmes, visit www.nescens.co
