The 27th Edition of Jewellery and Watch Show (JWS) today was inaugurated by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Tolerance. The opening ceremony was attended by VIP personalities, visitors and members from the media.
Sheikh Nahyan took a tour of the different sections of the exhibition and viewed the exclusive and original collections of jewellery and watches spanning countries across the globe. He also was invited to see the World’s Most Valuable Guitar, better known as the Eden of Coronet which is encrusted with over 11,000 diamonds and is worth 2 million dollars. The extravagant guitar is on display in JWS and is owned by Aaron Shum Jewelry of Hong Kong, parent company of Lifestyle Fine Jewellery.
Mohamad Meheiddine, JWS Event Manager said, “It is such an honour for us to open the doors of JWS in the presence of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the Minister of Tolerance in the UAE, who has always provided us with unconditional support throughout the years.” He also added, “It is amazing that we are now in the 27th edition of the show and with each year we ensure that it is an incomparable experience for all those who visit and engage with exhibitors who bring to JWS pieces that are exceptional and varied.”
JWS this year has over 150 exhibitors, of which several of them are new. It is a unique experience as most of the items on display are rarely found in mainstream retail outlets or shopping malls. JWS gathers under one roof a rich and dynamic blend of designs that are both local, regional and international creating a festival of jewellery and watches for visitors to choose from.
At the show there are brands that can only be found in JWS who have never been seen before in the UAE. Similarly, there are also exhibitors who have chosen JWS as the launching point for their designs. As part of the global dimension of JWS, there is an International Designer Gallery filled with brands from all across the world.
As part of promoting the local UAE culture and to encourage UAE designers there is an Emirati Designer Gallery filled with brands that stem from the authentic traditions of the country set in contemporary designs. JWS will be hosting the Ebda’a Awards that are the brainchild of the most prominent Emirati artist and jewellery designer Azza Al Qubaisi.
The strength of JWS is that it offers extremely diverse lines of jewellery and watches that suit every single occasion and budget. Watch collectors will also find plenty of timepieces with a plethora of designs, shapes, stones and straps that match day and eveningwear.
The organisers of JWS have added a fresh twist to the event by introducing the Augmented Reality Feature that allows customers to e-try designs on a computer screen to see whether it is the most suitable design for them.
One of the latest features of JWS is the innovative Gift Bag that every visitor can access to see a variety of vouchers and decide which ones they would like to redeem at the event using their mobile.
As part of the luxurious yet comfortable experience, Laduree, the renowned French culinary restaurant will be available for visitors to enjoy delicious desserts as well as a tailored menu of healthy fusion meals.
