Team Abu Dhabi’s Salman Al Awadhi returns to world championship action in China next month after boosting his reputation as one of the UAE’s top young jet ski racers on home waters.
The 18-year-old Emirati won the opening heat of the UAE Jetski Marathon Championship with an impressive performance at Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club.
In a keenly contested event attracting 31 riders, Al Awadhi had a 10-seconds winning margin over Sultan Alhammadi after the top four finishers completed ten laps each in the endurance test.
With two more rounds of the 2019 series to follow in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, Al Awadhi’s next target is the third round of this year’s UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship in Quingdao, China on 10-13 October.
