His Excellency Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, today officially inaugurated the Middle East region’s premier B2B event for the natural stone, marble and ceramics industry.

Welcoming recognised industry brand names from around the world, His Excellency Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi toured the exhibition and met many company representatives who have gathered in Dubai for the three-day exhibition, which runs until Thursday, 6 September at Dubai world Trade Centre.

Dr Al Zeyoudi commended the organizational level of the exhibition and the modernity of the technologies it comprises. He stressed that in the framework of the guidance of the wise leadership, the UAE has witnessed amazing developments and has become a world-class exhibition centre and a global trade hub, linking East Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

“The fourth session of the exhibition and the accompanied conference comes as a global recognition of the UAE’s important geographical location and to promote the stone and marble industry in support of the already active investments in the real estate and the infrastructure sectors in the region in general and the UAE in particular, with mega infrastructure projects such as Expo 2020,” said Dr Al Zeyoudi.

His Excellency pointed out that the construction industry, including stone, cement, marble and ceramics, is one of the important pillars of the national economy, so the country pays great attention to this sector and its sustainability, where several steps and procedures have been taken to organize all industrial activities to minimize environmental impact and ensure sustainability.

Providing decision makers in the construction industry with a unique opportunity to reach a number of organisations and professionals under one roof, Middle East Stone is the largest annual trade exhibition for the region’s natural stone, marble and ceramics industry.

Reaffirming its place as an important date in the calendar of industry professionals, the three-day exhibition will connect more than 400 suppliers, manufacturers and distributors with thousands of decision-makers from the region.

With more than 30 years’ experience across the Middle East and North Africa, Sun Italia Marble & Granite, the family-run business, maintains Middle East Stone serves as a global platform for the industry.

Mohamad Elzein, Managing Director for Sun Italia Marble & Granite said, “Middle East Stone is the gulf’s biggest dedicated stone expo where the world’s premiere suppliers of marble, ceramics and natural stone showcase their products.

“Global leaders from across all stone-based fields – from quarrying to cutting and colouring – showcase rare, unique and international stone to over thousands of professionals from the natural stone, marble, granite and ceramics community.”
