Thrill seekers will be given the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime adrenaline rush in the cockpit of an extreme offshore powerboat catamaran alongside a world championship pilot during the 25th Dubai International Boat Show.
This unique experience, in a Team Australia boat that averages 120mph in race action, is on offer for two winners of a social media competition being staged by the show organisers, Dubai World Trade Centre.
To enter, visitors will need to post a personal video or photograph of a memorable personal adventure on the water in the build-up to the show, taking place at Dubai International Marine Club from 28 February to 4 March.
Hashtags revealed on the event’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram profiles are necessary to enter the competition and have been set up to inspire entrants to post their extreme adventures.
“What we’re offering is a truly unique and breath-taking experience,” said Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President, Events Management, DWTC.
“The racing machine has been a great performer in XCAT World Series events in recent years, and competition winners will be riding alongside Brett Luhrmann and Pål Virik Nelson, two of Team Australia’s top pilots.”
Both pilots have decorated racing careers with Luhrmann, a powerboat veteran of 38 years and over 420 races under his belt, and Virik Nelson participating in over 260 races throughout his racing career winning the Australian Supercat 600 Champion three times and netting three consecutive Australian Championship Class-1 titles, respectively.
The Dubai International Boat Show returns with support from the Dubai Maritime City Authority; VIP sponsor Feadship; supporting partner Panerai; and official car sponsor Mercedes-Benz (Gargash Enterprises).
