Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced its readiness to participate in the first Government Games initiative, which was launched by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai. The initiative tests the physical and mental aptitude of government employees.
“First of all, I would like to thank HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for continuously supporting sports in Dubai, and for launching the Government Games initiative. The initiative will ensure positive competition among government employees, promote teamwork, and enhance employees’ mental and physical capabilities and skills in an innovative way. We are fully prepared to participate in the Government Games. We are committed to developing the mental and physical capacities of DEWA’s staff and promoting teamwork in a positive and motivating environment, that balances our employees’ professional and social lives, and brings positive energy into the workplace,” added Al Tayer.
Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources and Chairman of the Sports Committee at DEWA, said that the committee has formed both a male and female team to represent DEWA in the Government Games.
