Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has adopted using Dubai Font for its internal and external correspondence, as well as all its digital platforms including its website, smart apps, and social media pages. The move is in response to launching the Dubai Font by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai. Dubai Font is the first in the world to be developed by a city and carry its name, in cooperation with Microsoft.
“Launching Dubai Font confirms the pioneering approach of the UAE in creativity and innovation regionally and globally. It also underlines Dubai’s distinguished efforts to promote its role in the digital world. This contributes to achieving the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which always motivates us to continue our leadership and excellence, and anticipate and shape the future of strategic sectors, according to a clear approach based on innovation, research and development,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
“We have adopted Dubai Font as part of our commitment to disseminating this initiative and its success locally and globally, and keeping pace with the latest technological and digital developments. At DEWA, we support the Smart Dubai initiative, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to make Dubai the happiest and smartest city in the world. We also make use of disruptive technologies and implement best international practices in research and development for the production, transmission and distribution of electricity and water services in accordance with the highest international standards, to enhance the prosperity and happiness of society,” added Al Tayer.
