As part of a series of mutual visits with leading service providers in the region to support Dubai’s comprehensive development and sustainable development plan, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received a delegation from the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), to study best practices and the latest solutions in the field of technical innovation.
During the visit, the SEC delegation reviewed the structure and strategy of the Innovation and the Future Department at DEWA, as well as the Microsoft HoloLens technology, which reflects DEWA’s efforts in leading the digital transformation and enhancing its global position through its operations, improving productivity, accelerating innovation, and providing best quality and fully efficient services that contribute to the upgrade and efficiency of government work.

It strives to support all its objectives through sharing its knowledge, experience, and achievements in the field of Alternative Technology. DEWA is also leads in innovation and excellence to provide the best and highest quality smart services through the best use of the latest technology and appropriate recruitment to achieve the Smart Dubai Initiative, launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform Dubai into the smartest city in the world. This collaboration also reinforces DEWA’s position as one of the largest and most efficient service providers in the world,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

At the end of the visit, the SEC delegation thanked DEWA for their warm welcome. The delegation expressed their satisfaction with the significant development in the techniques used by DEWA, wishing them further progress and excellence in all fields.
It is important to note that the Microsoft HoloLens technology, (3D Mixed Reality technology), creates a unique end-to-end solution for DEWA energy plants with 3D representation of real data. HoloLens technology can also be used in confined spaces such as the combustion chambers, with continuous direct communication with the entire team. Documents can be attached and voice annotations added to make technical decisions quickly.
