HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), opened DEWA’s celebrations of the 45th UAE National Day, to DEWA’s Executive Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, senior management, employees and representatives of government and private organisations in Dubai, and customers and visitors.
DEWA set up a large heritage tent at its headquarters and also tents at the Sustainable Building in Al Quoz, Warsan, Al Hudaiba, and Jebel Ali Power Station. The tents hosted DEWA’s activities in celebration of National Day.
“I would like to welcome you all on this joyous occasion, and congratulate His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, Their Highnesses the Crown Princes and the Sheikhs, the people of the UAE, and the residents of our good land, on the occasion of the 45th UAE National Day. Today we ask Allah Almighty to ensure prosperity for our wise leadership, and the citizens of the UAE,” said Al Tayer.
“Our UAE National Day reflects the highest meaning of loyalty and commitment to our great land. This day is set to remind us of the efforts made by our founding fathers, and their work to build solidarity between the leadership and the people, which will forever remain a bookmark in our country’s history. Today’s occasion serves as an opportunity for us to renew our loyalty to our wise leadership, they, who have built the UAE and have efficiently maintained its strength and glory. The UAE has become a role model for tolerant peaceful living, reflecting a long-term vision of love, and the loyalty of the UAE’s people. This has enabled the UAE to have leaders who sacrifice, and give back to the community. On this day we pledge to support our leadership, protect our national identity, and efficiently represent the UAE in every international event. Our love for the country involves loyalty, devotion, and hard work, and we are proud of the achievements made by the UAE, under the directives of the wise leadership, and its loyalty to the people. By marking the 45th anniversary of our beloved union, we send a message to the entire world, who are looking back at us with respect. Our National Day celebrations reflect our love for the country and its leadership. Our homeland is united, and the UAE people trust the legacy started by our founding fathers. We are proud of our country, and are committed to making every effort to achieve the vision of the wise leadership, ensuring security, prosperity, welfare, and happiness for all people,” added Al Tayer.
“Our beloved union was born great, and will forever remain great. The UAE has become one of the most advanced countries, and stands at the forefront in international competitiveness indicators. We are confident that our future will prove rich with achievements and success, as a result of the loyalty of the UAE’s people. This adheres to the vision of the wise leadership, to adopt creativity and innovation in all aspects of life, while predicting the future to ensure a brighter future for us and for generations to come,” continued Al Tayer.
“The UAE National Day will always remain a symbol of pride and integrity. This day reflects the spirit of our beloved union, and motivates us to work hard to enhance the competitiveness of the UAE in everything we do. The UAE will always be a symbol of solidarity between the people and the leadership, as well as an international role model for prosperity, growth, welfare, and security. I ask Allah Almighty to forever bless the UAE with prosperity. I wish you good health and happiness,” concluded Al Tayer.
One of DEWA’s celebrations included DEWA employees gathering to create a human flag of the UAE. DEWA’s activities also included a heritage food corner, an instant-photo booth with banners carrying national themes, heritage tent, a poetry session and tribute to participating poets Mosabah bin Ali al-Kaabi, Saad Marzouq Al Ahbabi, and Mohammed Salem Al Kaabi, a bakery, homemade goods, and the Yula dance. The Social Happiness department showed a video about this important occasion.
DEWA also launched a competition on social media channels under the theme ‘Joy of the Nation.’ The competition was highlighted with the distribution of prizes and different gifts for winners. Schoolgirls from the Ibda’a Model School also performed a traditional dance. The Women’s Committee also held several activities including a heritage competition and launching a national campaign on social media. DEWA also launched a competition on social media called ‘Challenge Alphabet’ with the hashtag #DEWA45UAE and distributed UAE flags, scarves and brooches carrying the Union Spirit motto to residential areas.
