Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will today highlight its key achievements and initiatives in the security and sustainability of energy and water as well as its efforts to increase the share of renewable and clean energy as well as promote a green economy at the 7th World Government Summit (WGS) 2019. DEWA is the Sustainable Energy Partner of WGS, organised under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, will discuss DEWA’s experiences in developing the water security of Dubai in a session on The Future of Global Water Security and Sustainability. He will also take part in a panel discussion on the Future of Energy on the 2nd day of the summit.
“The World Government Summit has become one of the key government events worldwide, thanks to the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The visions and theories shared at the summit are references for world governments in shaping the future. I am pleased that Dubai Electricity and Water Authority is the Sustainable Energy Partner of the 7th World Government Summit, and that we will share our experience in enhancing water security in a session on the Future of Global Water Security and Sustainability. We will present our strategy to desalinate 100% of our water powered by clean energy by 2030. I will also highlight DEWA’s efforts in shaping the future of energy and promoting the share of clean and renewable energy in line with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, at a panel discussion on the Future of Energy with other officials and experts,” said Al Tayer.
