: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has marked Commemoration Day at its head office. HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Executive Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, and DEWA staff observed a minute of silence at 11:30am. They prayed to Allah for the UAE martyrs to dwell in heaven in peace, and for the bereaved families to be given patience and strength. The UAE flag was then raised while the National Anthem was played.
“On Commemoration Day, we honour the Emirati martyrs whose sacrifices represent the noblest examples of good citizenship. They gave their lives to defend their land so that our flag remains raised high and we enjoy security, peace, and stability. On this glorious day, we vow to defend our homeland in pursuance of the path of these brave heroes who answered the call of duty and sacrificed their lives to protect our homeland. They gave us and our future generations the best examples of altruism and sacrifice. We also renew our pledge and loyalty for our dear country, standing behind our wise leadership. We promise to continue working for the advancement of the UAE, to make the most of its achievements and strengthen its global position. We pray that the souls of our martyrs rest in peace and their families are instilled with patience and solace,” said Al Tayer.
DEWA staff emphasised that the martyrs embody the best examples of giving and sacrifice. The staff also emphasised that they stand behind the wise leadership to answer the nation’s call of duty at any time in gratitude for the martyrs and emphasised their belonging to this homeland.
