DEWA has announced the launch of the Rammas AI service on Amazon’s Alexa smart voice system. DEWA has become the first government entity to add its virtual employee to this innovative technology, in adherence with the directives of the wise leadership to reduce the number of visitors to government establishments by 80% and encourage the public to use smart services. This supports the Smart Dubai initiative, which aims to transform Dubai into the smartest and happiest city in the world.
Rammas acts as a virtual employee, making use of artificial intelligence technology to answer customer enquiries. Rammas is characterised by its ability to learn and understand the needs of customers, according to their enquiries. Rammas analyses these based on available data and information, and takes action to accurately answer all queries.
“In adherence with the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to develop a smart government that offers its services through intelligent and connected systems from anywhere at any time to achieve the happiness of customers, by saving them time and effort, DEWA has launched its Rammas service on Amazon’s Alexa smart system. This will increase communication channels with customers, encouraging the further use of smart services, to meet their needs and achieve their happiness,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
DEWA supports the vision and strategic initiatives launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, including the Dubai 10x initiative, which was launched during the World Government Summit, and is being implemented by Dubai Future Foundation, to achieve Dubai’s vision to become the city of the future. This will be achieved by adopting new mechanisms of work, to develop the future, and contribute to Dubai’s sustainable competitiveness. This also supports the Smart Dubai initiative, which aims to transform Dubai into the smartest and happiest city in the world.

Rammas responds to enquiries in both English and Arabic through a 24 hour chatbot. Rammas is available 7 days a week via DEWA’s website, on DEWA’s Facebook, through iOS and Android platforms, and Amazon’s Alexa service.
