DEWA honours 52 winners of H1 2017 Internal Excellence Awards

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has honoured its winners of the Internal Excellence Awards for the first half of 2017, in support of the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to encourage excellence and the most creative and innovative achievements in government operations, and to lead in providing the best government service, to make Dubai a leading global model in excellent government service.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, honoured 52 of DEWA’s distinguished employees during the annual Suhoor gathering that was held at the Palazzo Versace hotel in Dubai. The event was attended by DEWA’s Executive Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, and a number of staff.
The internal awards’ categories included Employee Excellence, Administrative Excellence, Customer Happiness, and Sustainability. Employee Excellence included categories such as he distinguished supervisory employee, distinguished employee in specialist jobs or finance, distinguished technical staff, distinguished field staff, distinguished administrative staff, innovative employees, new distinguished employees, the Unknown Soldier, creative idea, and outstanding project. Customer Happiness included best customer service staff, and best service staff at the call centre. The Sustainability Awards category was divided into leadership in sustainability, best sustainability initiative, and department with the best sustainability awareness.
Al Tayer congratulated DEWA’s distinguished employees, applauding their efforts and achievements, which promote government work and support the process of sustainable excellence at DEWA. Al Tayer also urged them to devise more ideas, applications, projects and new programmes, for the happiness of customers and stakeholders.
“As part of our efforts to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to spread a culture of excellence and encourage a positive spirit of competition to make a difference in performance and services, we adopt a strategy to institutionalise excellence and apply corporate excellence standards in all processes within our organisation. We continuously encourage and motivate our outstanding employees by honouring them and highlighting their creativity, innovation, and contribution to supporting DEWA’s efforts to develop and improve the working environment and institutional performance,” said Al Tayer.
Al Tayer exhorted employees to continue their efforts to improve performance within DEWA and enhance the quality of its services, to sustain excellence across all its operations, and achieve the happiness of DEWA’s customers and stakeholders.
