50 employees from Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) participated in the XDubai Spartan Race 2017, which was organised in Hatta, Dubai. The Spartan Race is one of the most popular obstacle races in the world. XDubai Spartan included the 5-7 km Spartan Sprint with 20-23 obstacles, the 20-23 km Spartan Beast with 30-35 obstacles, and a Kids’ race. DEWA’s participation in XDubai Spartan is part of its commitment to supporting sporting events, and encouraging its staff to engage in physical activities.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, commended the organisation of XDubai Spartan Race 2017 in Hatta, noting that it supports the Comprehensive Development Plan for Hatta, which was launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The Plan boosts the area’s social and economic capabilities and enhance its attractiveness as a world-class tourist destination. The race highlights the unique natural and terrain of Dubai, as well as the development of Hatta.

This is done in the framework of the sporting spirit that characterises the events held in Dubai, especially that the XDubai Spartan Race 2017 coincides with the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which was launched by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of Executive Council of Dubai, and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council.
