If you haven’t come across Dubai’s brand-new entertainment destination, just follow the beaming lights at City Walk tonight (Thursday May 16).
Dubai is celebrating International Light Day by turning on Coca-Cola Arena’s 4,600 LED exterior display for the very first time, and it’s sure to put on a show.
Taking place from 7pm until midnight, the outside façade will be lit up in unison with famous landmarks around the world, along with the launch of scientific, cultural and artistic events around the world.
It isn’t just shining lights, as the Coca-Cola Arena can change its appearance at the touch of the button and generate an “unlimited array of colours” in various patterns.
The façade will also be used to celebrate important public events and holidays, such as UAE National Day as well as national days of other countries and cultures.
“Coca-Cola Arena is proud to implement the very best technology both inside and outside of the arena,” AEG Ogden’s CEO of Coca-Cola Arena, Guy Ngata.
“Meraas have shown great vision to build a venue that is focused on being a fan-first live entertainment experience and that experience of coming to see a show at Coca-Cola Arena very much includes coming to a venue that is striking and visually stunning.
“The arena façade lighting design achieves a truly unique external visual experience for all of our visitors and the wider City Walk community and we are very excited to open our doors to our first shows very soon.”
The exclusive light show gives us a teaser as to what to expect with its first performance by world-famous comedian Russell Peters on Thursday June 6.
The huge acts don’t stop there, as after that we’re getting international superstar band Maroon 5 on Friday June 14, performing tunes from their most recent album Red Pill Blues.
Fancy a nostalgia trip with sensational Irish pop band Westlife? The band will be performing at the arena on Thursday August 29, and its sure to be a show not to be missed.
