Azizi Developments—a leading UAE-based real estate developer with global reach into international markets—will be supporting the 2017 edition of the Dubai World Cup at Meydan Racecourse next Saturday. The developer will be sponsoring the 1200 metre, Al Quoz Sprint, the fifth of nine races in the premier horse-racing event where 13 countries will compete.
The sponsorship follows the recent purchase of 186 plots in Meydan as part of Azizi Developments’ aggressive expansion plans in Dubai with a portfolio evaluation of AED 13.5 billion by the end of the year. The plots will be within Meydan’s integrated city and destination for business, sports and lifestyle. Azizi Developments’ plots will feature low- and mid-rise residential as well as retail projects near Meydan Racecourse, Meydan One Mall and its record-breaking attractions.

One horse-racing fan, commented on the upcoming Al Quoz Sprint, “Ali Rashid Al Rayhi’s sprinter, Ertijaal, is the UAE-favourite for turf. His form this year is incredible, but this is his first go at 1,200 metres. In the last few races I’ve seen, there is a lot more speed on turf. The jockeys just barely put any pressure on the reins. They have such a light touch on the ground. I’m not an expert, but I think they love the turf. They’re just out there having fun. It takes a few strides to get going but then they’re riding like a cloud. I can’t wait to see who wins.”
