HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), honoured Hend Awadh Al Tamimi; an outstanding student and an employee from the Finance Department at DEWA. Al Tamimi was received by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at his palace in Zabeel, as part of a delegation of outstanding students from various universities. The delegation also included students from military colleges, as well as top Emirati high school students. This comes in line with DEWA’s keenness to support creative and talented staff.
Al Tayer congratulated Al Tamimi, and applauded her academic accomplishments in accounting, wishing her further progress and success, and to be at the forefront of future leaders who are capable of advancing the UAE to further horizons.
Al Tayer stressed that encouraging excellence, and honouring and rewarding outstanding individuals, is essential as it contributes to the nation’s development and the development of its youth, who are its foundation and future. Al Tayer also highlighted the importance of DEWA’s scholarship programme, which is open to Emirati students and employees, and includes scientific programmes that would allow them to reach the highest international standards and qualify them scientifically and practically in work procedures, in turn strengthening the electricity and water sectors.
“Skill development is one of the key factors that contribute to supporting Emirati talents. We are working in accordance with a well-established strategy to promote Emiratisation and support national skills and talents. DEWA is one of the leading government institutions, in the UAE, in launching training programmes for citizens wishing to complete their studies, inside or outside the UAE, in various fields of energy,” concluded Al Tayer.
